PALO ALTO, CA, May 23, 2016 – Striim, Inc., providers of an end-to-end streaming integration + intelligence platform, today announced that it has been recognized as a “cool vendor” in the “Cool Vendors in In-Memory Computing Technology, 2016” [1] report by Gartner, Inc.

In-memory computing (IMC) is defined as enabling “a range of real-time analytics scenarios, including event stream processing, context brokering and hybrid transaction/analytical processing.” The report says emerging IMC platforms focused on ease of use will help application architecture leaders enable these use cases.

A key overall finding of the report is that, “Only the most tech-savvy and deep-pocketed user organizations can afford the costs and efforts needed to assemble the appropriate technology platforms from the myriad competing open- and closed-source technologies. Mainstream organizations are looking for in-the-cloud or on-premises out-of-the-box, integrated platforms that can address their specific use cases to keep costs and complexity under control.”

Among the recommendations, the report suggests that application architecture leaders, “Favor IMC-enabled real-time analytics platforms that can support your use cases by providing the needed capabilities as an integrated out-of-the box feature set. This will help you contain implementation, maintenance, administration and support costs.”

Striim is seeing a strong increase in demand for its fully integrated IMC platform. Striim customers span numerous industries and use cases, all seeking an easy-to-use solution for these common problems:

  • Capturing and enriching their most valuable data – transactional/operational data from their enterprise databases, as well as messages/events, log files and sensor data – in real time
  • Correlating and analyzing data/events with other data streams in-memory, in milliseconds
  • Providing real-time visualizations, alerts, and workflow triggers based on their real-time analysis
  • Loading processed data to any target, including Big Data/Kafka and Cloud environments

“All of us at Striim are truly honored to be recognized by Gartner as a ‘Cool Vendor’ in In-Memory Computing Technology,” said Steve Wilkes, founder and CTO of Striim. “As the technologies that comprise in-memory computing converge, we believe that Gartner’s recognition of Striim is further validation of our promise to enable companies to leverage all of the benefits of real-time data integration and streaming analytics through a fully integrated, enterprise-grade, and easy-to-use platform.”
